CCBC School of Health Professions Information Sessions

The Community College of Baltimore County School of Health Professions will host Program Information Sessions on each of its campuses during February. This is a general admissions presentation tailored to the interests of the audience. Information will be available on the 14 credit programs to be offered by the School of Health Professions in the fall of 2008. For additional information or reserve a seat, call 410-780-6989.

Essex Trio Named Examiner Tailgaters of the Year

Robert Morningstar, 43, Mark Stoecker, 48, and Jerry Bunty, 43 and their bus have been named the Examiner's Raven Tailgaters of the Year.

I would recommed reading today's Examiner article on James Johnson the 50 year old graduate from Kenwood High School who is serving as our police chief.

All Terrain Vehicles Stolen

A shed was broken into in the 600 block of Waterside Court between Friday and Saturday and stole two all-terrain vehicles, one a 2008 Renegade and the other a 2004 Polaris. Total value of the vehicles is $14,000.

Man Sentenced in Seventies Murder/Rape Case

Thomas J. Grant, age 51, was sentenced on February 11, 2008 for the murder and rape of Shelia Bazemore Rascoe. Rascoe, a 28-year-old seamstress, was strangled to death in her Essex apartment on September 15, 1979. Judge Mickey J. Norman of the Baltimore County Circuit Court sentenced grant to two consecutive life sentences. Life without parole was not a sentencing option at the time of the crime.

Carjacking on Old Eastern

A male motorist, 20, was stopped in the 1700 block of Old Eastern Ave. around 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2008 where a passenger of an adjacent car used a handgun to force the driver from his Buick LaSabre. The Buick was later recovered on Woodmans Court.
